SOUTHERN VERMONT ARTS/CRAFTS

Bennington Pottery - If you are looking for the perfect “Made In Vermont” item to take home, visit Bennington Potters. Crafted by the human hand, this pottery is rich in detail with curves, rolled edges. You’ll find both tableware and decorative pieces to choose from. And best of all, it’s dishwasher safe.

Robert Compton Pottery - Come watch Robert fashioning his stoneware pottery (plates, vases, lamps, unique clay fountains and aquariums). Meanwhile, Christine Homer works her loom, weaving placemats and napkins to complement her husband's dinnerware. Robert's work is in the permanent collections of the Kirkland Museum and Wood Art Gallery, as well as the personal collections of musician George Harrison and hotelier Baron von Hilton.

Southern Vermont Arts Center - This art center, Vermont's oldest cultural organization, is located in a National Historic Trust Mansion. The Arts Center's ten galleries feature classic and contemporary art on view and for sale. Explore the 407 acres around the center, including hiking trails, a botany trail, sculpture gardens and an indoor/outdoor cafe. Music and dance performances are frequently offered. The Elizabeth Wilson Museum is a stunning Hugh Newell Jacobsen-designed fine arts facility to display the Arts Center's 800-piece Permanent Collection and special traveling exhibitions from the nation's finest museums.
