SOUTHERN
VERMONT SKI, HIKE & SWIM
Bromley Mountain - Grab your camera and take a ride
up the Sun Mountain Express Chairlift to Bromley's summit
for a scenic 5-state view!! Just a short bit from the chair's
get-off point, you can hike to the summit's Observation Tower,
or just linger at your leisure and absorb Vermont's natural
beauty. Nearby is part of the Appalachian/Long Trail system,
which is identified by white trail blazes. The route follows
a rocky course through a mixed northern hardwood forest, which
lends itself to spectacular fall foliage. It's been said that
a visit to Bromley is like visiting with your oldest friend,
that it's a place that's as comfortable as your favorite pair
of sneakers. It's true, of course, and it's been that way
since the mountain opened more than six decades ago.
Mount Snow Valley - Mount Snow Valley, known for the
best parks and pipes in the east is home of 2002 Olympic Snowboarding
Gold medallist Kelly Clark. Explore the 132 skiing trails
located in part of the Green Mountain National Forest. Hike
the more than 20 miles of trails through the Forest on and
around the mountain. Check out the comprehensive Hiking Center,
which includes self-guided tours and interpretive nature hikes.
At nearby Lake Whitingham, rent jet skis, boats or kayaks.
Or go water skiing, white water rafting, or horseback riding.
Golfing and fly-fishing are a must for those who enjoy the
sport. Pack a picnic and come enjoy!
